Following AG Garland’s Remarks Indicating The DOJ May Prosecute Donald Trump For Jan. 6th Attack, Former US Prosecutor Theorized, “Trump Will Be Charged”

Recently, Biden administration Attorney General Merrick Garland finally said what we’ve all been needing to hear — the United States Department of Justice will not be shying away from any evidence in the case regarding the violent January 6th Capitol attack, even if it implicates ex-President Donald Trump or people within his inner circle.

The House Select Committee that’s currently investigating the infamous siege recently announced that they believe Donald Trump committed multiple crimes throughout his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. This has, of course, raised questions once again as to whether or not the one-term, twice-impeached ex-president will actually be charged and held accountable for these crimes he’s being accused of.

Speaking with NPR, Attorney General Garland made it clear that the US Justice Department would be pursuing charges against anyone who is found to have broken the law in the course of the riotous insurrection at the United States Capitol. And he means anyone.

“We are not avoiding cases that are political or cases that are controversial or sensitive,” Garland told the publication. “What we are avoiding is making decisions on a political basis, on a partisan basis.”

Following Garland’s assertion, former U.S. Army Prosecutor Glenn Kirschner weighed in with his own analysis and flat-out said, “Trump will be charged.”

Kirschner, the legal expert who now works as a legal analyst for both MSNBC and NBC News, took to his Twitter with a screenshot of the NPR article and wrote, “Accordingly, the only rational conclusion that can be drawn from AG Garland’s promise is that . . . TRUMP. WILL. BE. CHARGED. Because #JusticeMatters.”

The legal analyst followed up with a second tweet, warning Trump’s allies that they should certainly be wary as well.

” New interview of AG Garland by NPR’s Carrie Johnson in which he promises to hold ‘everyone’ accountable for their J6 crimes. You hear that [Steve] Bannon, [Roger] Stone, [Jeffrey] Clark, [John] Eastman, [Mo] Brooks, Rudy [Giuliani], [Donald Trump] Jr., fake electors & others? And, most importantly, TFG?” Kirschner penned, using “TGF,” a common acronym that stands for “the former guy,” in reference to Donald Trump.

Recently,  Harvard constitutional law professor Laurence Tribe and former federal prosecutor Dennis Aftergut, penned a Washington Post opinion piece, in which they argued that Garland should appoint a special counsel to investigate Trump in a way that would shield him from further accusations of political bias or actions.

“The time has come for Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel to investigate Donald Trump. That step offers the best way to reassure the country that no one is above the law, justice is nonpartisan and fears of political fallout will not determine the decision on whether to bring charges,” the pair wrote.

Now it’s high time this stain on the United States is held accountable.
