Recently we reported that megadonors for the Republican Party seemed to have set their sights on a new Messiah in the wake of the disaster that was the Trump administration — none other than Trump-loving Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

At first glance, any normal human being’s natural reaction to this would generally be, “Well, thank God it’s at least not Donald Trump again.”

But, not so fast, folks. If ever there were another human being that could even begin to match the level of depravity, corruption, and deceit of Donald Trump, it would be Ron DeSantis. Hell, the man has shamelessly fawned over Trump for years now, making it pretty clear that he wants to be just like the ex-president when he grows up.

He’s one of those people that make you truly hope there’s a Hell. And if you didn’t before, you certainly will now.

According to a new report, a Florida bill proposed by DeSantis himself and passed in the state’s Senate is set to give civil immunity to people who literally run protesters over with their vehicles.

A report from the Orlando Sentinel reads:

The parts of the bill (HB 1 ) that most upset Democrats grant civil legal immunity to people who drive through protesters blocking a road; prevent people arrested for rioting or offenses committed during a riot from bailing out of jail until their first court appearance, and impose a six-month mandatory sentence for battery on a police officer during a riot.”

People who literally run people over with their car during a protest can still be criminally charged under this heinous bill, but would not be able to be sued for civil damages.

Republicans in the state of Florida are claiming that this nausea-inducing bill will actually help to prevent violence by denying bail for protesters and allowing people to run them down with their vehicles without the risk of civil liability.

However, the majority of protests in this nation, those in Florida included, are peaceful and only consist of human beings exercising their First Amendment right. Whereas this bill is quite literally all but giving the green light to run people over. I don’t think they have the violence pinned on the right people to start with.
