Lev Parnas Said In New Interview That Trump Is Not Like “Organized Crime,” But More “Like A Cult Leader”

I think this is even worse.

As we’re all well aware by now, former Rudy Giuliani henchman Lev Parnas is making good on his promise to sing like a bird against Donald Trump as his impeachment trial in the Senate is now officially underway.

Parnas’ attorney Joseph Bondy revealed several weeks ago that the former associate of Trump’s personal lawyer was eager to add his two cents to Trump’s impeachment proceedings in the form of a testimony, and made it very clear that Lev had more than a little information up his sleeve that could very well change the course of this entire debacle — and perhaps even leave the Senate with no choice but to find Trump guilty of his crimes, despite their blind loyalty to the man.

And frankly, so far, Lev has seemed to keep up his end of the bargain.

While it’s almost impossible to confirm everything that comes out of Parnas’ mouth — and it’s important we remember that the man is still a criminal who’s ultimately looking to get out of a lot of trouble that’s currently waiting on his doorstep — it’s also impossible to deny that the majority of what he has revealed has sounded just like textbook Trump traits and Trump administration tactics.

Over the course of the past few days, Parnas has dropped quite a few bombshells on the American public, implicating nearly everyone in Trump’s pocket, including Attorney General Bill Barr, and his attorney has made it very clear that they won’t be tolerating that Trump administrations “I’ve never met him” mantra, as Bondy has been flooding Twitter with photographs and video footage to prove otherwise.

But perhaps the scariest revelation to come from the former Trump/Rudy pal came during his interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, in which he explained that when it comes to Trump’s behavior the man is actually a whole lot less like a mob boss and a whole lot more comparable to a cult leader.

Speaking with Maddow on the segment, Parnas described why he felt as though he’d been brainwashed, telling the host that he regretted the things he was involved with that hurt former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovich, but that at the time he felt as though it was simply comparable to war casualties — the loss of some for the greater good of all.

“It was like being in a cult,” he explained. “They say organized crime — I don’t think Trump is like organized crime, I think he’s like a cult leader… he became [more] powerful when he got William Barr… I think I’m more scared of our DOJ than these criminals.”

Trump is no Al Capone, folks. He’s a Jim Jones of the worst kind. We can only hope that there are enough Hyacinth Thrashes left when the Kool-Aid is gone to rebuild an America worth living in again.
