Marjorie Taylor Greene Tried To Attack Biden And Harris For ‘Missing In Action’ And Instantly Regretted It

She should have sat this one out.

If you could add up all the moments of silence, thoughts, and prayers Donald Trump and other Republicans have offered to those who have died in hurricanes, mass shootings, and worldwide pandemics, it would add up to a big, fat, nothing. But this is not the way rabid, QAnon believers like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert seem to think. Marjorie is happy Trump offered thoughts and prayers for “those who lost their lives in Hurricane Helene.”

I’m sure this is of great comfort to the families who have lost loved ones to this devastating hurricane. CNN reports at least 128 people have died in the storm, with many more missing.

“But hey, thoughts and prayers folks. Sure that all bring all those people back.

Thank you to President Trump for praying for those who lost their lives in Hurricane Helene.

With Biden and Harris missing in action, he is here in Georgia to help our citizens who are hurting from the storm.

This is the LEADERSHIP we need in the White House!!”

Biden has already said he plans to visit sites devastated by the hurricane and he bristled at Trump’s criticism that he’s done little to aid the victims of the hurricane, Politico reports.

The Biden administration stresses that the federal government will continue to surge resources to devastated areas. On Monday said he may ask Congress to return earlier from its recess to pass supplemental disaster money in order to address the “broad and devastating impacts” Helene created.

“Homes and businesses have washed away in an instant. I want them to know we’re not leaving until the job is done,” Biden said. At that point, the president said he would wait to announce his travel plans because he did not want a presidential visit to disrupt relief efforts.

This is what a decent and concerned president does. Anyone remember Trump’s performance during Hurricane Maria? His paper towels?

And Vice President Kamala Harris dropped in on FEMA headquarters Monday while returning from Las Vegas. According to one White House official, she spent her flight time calling leaders of impacted states. Among them: Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.

This is not thoughts and prayers, okay?

But why do all that, when you can offer a brief speech laden with your thoughts and prayers and a “moment of silence?”

“And to the families and loved ones of those who have perished we mourn alongside of you and we mourn every single life so tragically lost. I’d like to now ask for a moment of silence and prayer if you would for those who have died, thank you.”

That led to a long silence where Trump miraculously kept his mouth shut. I’m sure it was difficult for him.

Folk on social media were furious and fed up with this nonsense, and they said so.

“Oh Look! Trump bringing additional chaos to the scene of a natural disaster, so he can get a good photo op Here’s why Biden/Harris are not on the ground, as well as how they are helping these American people remotely.”

“I prefer the help and attention where it belongs, on the people who need it via actual help which is being provided, not self serving assholes like this one and you,” @A_totheZ_Amber wrote.

Others had apt comments.

This is absolutely true. The man feeds on the misfortune of others. That’s been the center point of his political trajectory. Feeding on the misfortune of immigrants and women, people of color and senior citizens.

Then there’s Boebert, with her dumb little tweet.

She earned this appropriate response and I hope it embarrassed her. If she’s capable of that considering her Beetlejuice performance.

Really, Boebert, Trump, and Greene deserve each other. They spout misinformation while offering nothing of any real value to those impacted by this disaster.

Do I really need to say more?
