Report Reveals The Alleged Reason That Sparked The Breakup Between Don Jr. And Kimberly Guilfoyle

After a relationship that lasted for six years, much of which they spent engaged, Donald Trump, Jr., and former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle have split up, the New York Post confirmed this week. The son of the president-elect has been photographed several times since last summer with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson. There has been no public announcement that Trump and Guilfoyle are no longer engaged.

Most people aren’t able to get over the awkwardness of their son’s broken engagement by shipping his ex-fiancee halfway around the world, but Donald Trump isn’t like most people. He has announced the appointment of Guilfoyle as the next Ambassador to Greece.

Don Jr. did congratulate his possibly ex-fiancee:

One of numerous former Fox News hosts who will be part of the new administration, Guilfoyle lacks any diplomatic experience. However, her diplomatic posting will also avoid another bit of awkwardness: She was formerly married to California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and should he run for president in 2028 and the topic inevitably comes up, Guilfoyle won’t be around.

People magazine reported on some details of the split. Don Jr., per the report, has been seeing Anderson for about six months, while Guilfoyle “looked the other way because she loves the power and lifestyle.”

“Don is ready to move on and has been doing so anyway,” People’s source said. “He just wants things to end as nicely as possible.”

The 38-year-old Anderson is younger than Don — Guilfoyle is nine years his senior — and is described by People as “a big Republican, and wild.” It also appears that Guilfoyle’s diplomatic appointment was Anderson’s idea, as she “pushed for her to be shipped off.”

In addition, People pointed out another reason for the split: Guilfoyle’s fashion choices.

“Don Jr. has been telling people for months that Kim is so uptight and always dresses so professionally in these kinds of dresses and high heels, and never looks relaxed or casual,” one source told the magazine. “The tight dresses need to go and she has been told that.”

“Don Jr. has always wanted to look good in his father’s eyes,” the source tells PEOPLE. “Someone like Bettina, who is and has been a model and is in Waspy circles of Palm Beach, is something that would impress him.”
