Steve Bannon’s Perp Walk Caught On Video As He Surrenders Himself To The FBI After Indictment On 2 Counts Of Contempt Of Congress

I could watch this on a loop!

Former Trump White House chief strategist Steve Bannon was officially (finally) indicted on two separate charges of contempt of Congress last week after he not only refused to comply with a subpoena to appear before the House Select Committee that is currently investigating the January 6th Capitol riot but also refused to hand over subpoenaed documents in connection to the same investigation.

While it was a small victory, it was a victory nonetheless, as we’ve watched helplessly for years now as Trump and so many of his people have gotten away with so many injustices. But now, it seems the House Select Committee is sending somewhat of a message to others who may be thinking of pulling a stunt like Bannon did (or those who already have, like Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows who defied his subpoena last week) — you will be held accountable for breaking the law.

Now, that message is coming across loud and clear, as video footage from this morning clearly shows Bannon’s “perp walk” as he surrenders himself to the FBI in connection to his two contempt of Congress charges.

In the midst of turning himself in, Bannon declared, “We’re taking down the Biden regime.”

In the past, the Justice Department has been lax on enforcing criminal contempt referrals for stunts like Bannon’s. However, both Republicans and Democrats alike who are on the House Select Committee have been vocal about the fact that they expect that to change under the Biden administration.

In a statement following Bannon’s indictment on Friday, Attorney General Merrick Garland stated:

Since my first day in office, I have promised Justice Department employees that together we would show the American people by word and deed that the department adheres to the rule of law, follows the facts and the law and pursues equal justice under the law. Today’s charges reflect the department’s steadfast commitment to these principles.”

To make matters that much more embarrassing for Bannon and even Trump, the judge that has been assigned to Bannon’s case was appointed to his position by none other than the ex-president himself.
