While we’ve all sat in collective horror over the past 5+ years as Donald Trump has seemingly gotten away with everything just short of first-degree murder, New York Attorney General Letitia James is saying enough is enough.

James has served as Enemy Number 1 for Trump for quite some time now, as she’s repeatedly made it clear to the reality TV washup turned ex-president that she will not, under any circumstances, be backing down or cowering away from his temper tantrums. In fact, it seems every time Trump pitches one of his trademarked fits, James just goes that much harder.

In fact, Attorney General James spent today in court as a judge heard arguments in connection to Donald Trump’s and his childrens’ desperate fight to get out of the subpoenas that have been issued against them in James’ case and ultimately avoid being questioned under oath.

Back in December, James officially issued subpoenas for former President Donald Trump and his two eldest children, Ivanka and Don Jr. Now she’s looking to force the family to make good on those legal documents.

“The Trumps must comply with our lawful subpoenas for documents and testimony because no one in this country can pick and choose if and how the law applies to them,” James said in a new statement. “We will not be deterred in our efforts to continue this investigation and ensure that no one is above the law.”

Trump has, of course, already railed against James yet again in a statement on Tuesday, calling the NY AG’s probe a “sham investigation of a great company that has done a spectacular job for New York and beyond,” as well as a racially motivated “continuation of a Witch Hunt the likes of which has never been seen in this Country before.”

In her court filing this week, James included a letter that was sent to The Trump Organization by their longtime accounting firm, essentially breaking up with the ex-president’s company, stating that 10 years worth of Trump’s financial statements from the firm “should no longer be relied upon” after revelations from James’ investigation.

James’ office was quick to point out to Judge Arthur Engoron, who is hearing the case over the disputed subpoenas, that Trump’s own statement directly contradicts arguments made by Donald’s own attorneys, claiming that the ex-president had either limited or no knowledge of the allegations that the financial documents were misleading.

“It is not unusual for parties to a legal proceeding to disagree about the facts. But it is truly rare for a party to publicly disagree with statements submitted by his own attorneys in a signed pleading — let alone one day after the pleading was filed,” lawyers for James’ office wrote.

Of course, even in the Trump crew is forced to answer questioning under oath, per the subpoenas, they continue to have the right to consistently plead the fifth — a move Donald’s middle son Eric took full advantage of, hundreds of times, during a 2020 deposition.
