Life as a private American citizen just keeps going from bad to worse for disgraceful ex-president Donald Trump, and frankly, I can’t get enough of it.
Next week, the Senate is set to begin their second impeachment trial against Trump, this time for the violence he incited that resulted in the January 6th attack against the Capitol building at the hands of his rabid base. And this time, Democrats want to hear the story straight from the horse’s mouth — House impeachment managers are asking that Donald Trump testifies under oath in his upcoming impeachment trial.
Jamie Raskin, the Lead Impeachment Manager, has sent a letter to the former president asking that he provide his testimony under oath either before or during the upcoming Senate impeachment trial, regarding his conduct on January 6th.
“In light of your disputing these factual allegations, I write to invite you to provide testimony under oath, either before or during the Senate impeachment trial, concerning your conduct on January 6, 2021. We would propose that you provide your testimony (of course including cross-examination) as early as Monday, February 8, 2021, and not later than Thursday, February 11, 2021. We would be pleased to arrange such testimony at a mutually convenient time and place,” Raskin’s letter reads.

“If you decline this invitation, we reserve any and all rights, including the right to establish at trial that your refusal to testify supports a strong adverse inference regarding your actions (and inaction) on January 6, 2021,” he goes on to note in the letter.
The Daily Mail reported on the Democratic demand and has reached out to the former president for comments on the request, but have not received a reply.
Raskin requested a response from Donald Trump by no later than Friday, February 5, 2021, at 5 pm.
