In what can only be described as pure insanity, the Trump administration continues to vet potential appointees for a second term even though the president clearly lost the election to Joe Biden. On more than one occasion, Trump has already signaled that there won’t be a peaceful transition of power to the incoming Biden administration. Joe Biden won the popular vote by a significant number, and he won the electoral vote, so the Trump administration interviewing people for jobs is simply bonkers.
According to what two sources told The Daily Beast, the White House Presidential Personnel Office (PPO) was still processing candidates for jobs across the federal government, which would be taken up at the start of next year — even though President-elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated in January.
What fresh hell is this?
The office, which is tasked with staffing the federal agencies, is headed by Trump uber-loyalist and purge-overseer John McEntee. And it is still contacting listed references and conducting background checks, even though major networks called the 2020 presidential election for Biden on Saturday.

On top of that, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday that “the White House budget office has instructed federal agencies to continue preparing the administration’s budget proposal for the next fiscal year.”
But wait, there’s more. There’s always more with this administration.
The White House has instructed agencies to ignore Joe Biden’s transition team. And of course, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo went a little fascist on us and smugly said the quiet part out loud: “There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration.”
Yeah, no. The voters have spoken, and Biden leads Trump in the popular vote by over five million.
