Trump Appears To Threaten PA Governor For Making It Difficult For Him To Hold Rally During COVID-19 Pandemic: “I’ll Remember It, Tom”

How does he keep getting away with this?!

Over the course of his presidency, Donald Trump has had a very bad habit of pretty much blatantly threatening the people who do things he doesn’t agree with — and the governor of the town in which he held one of his MAGA rallies today was certainly no exception.

Since recovering from his bout with the potentially-deadly coronavirus, thanks in large part to the socialized medical care he won’t allow to the rest of the country, Trump has clearly been attempting to make up for his lost time when it comes to campaign rallies — holding up to three or so of the events a day, pretty much every single day, for well over a week now.

One of today’s events was held in Allentown, Pennsylvania. However, according to Donald, pulling it off was no easy task, thanks to the state’s governor, Tom Wolf, who had no desire to host one of these God-awful events in his state during a pandemic that is clearly still raging.

In a statement released last month, ahead of the President’s rally, Wolf said:

It is gravely concerning that the president would insist on holding this event with blatant disregard for social distancing and masking requirements. His decision to bring thousands of people together in a tight space in the midst of a global pandemic caused by an airborne virus is flat out wrong. No matter what party you support, all Americans should be very concerned that the president has put headlines and publicity above the health and safety of our families and communities….To hold this event is not just misguided, it is dangerous, it is manipulative and it is wrong. I would ask Pennsylvanians to think of the health and safety of their families and their communities before attending this event or any rally put on by the Trump campaign. And I would ask the president, for once, to put the health of his constituents ahead of his own political fortunes.”

Unsurprisingly, Donald did not take well to this at all and made it very well known during this afternoon’s event.

Spurring boos from his crowd by bringing up Wolf’s name, Trump complained that the rally was “set up just a few hours ago” but “your governor made it almost impossible for us to find any site.”

The President continued to bash the state’s governor for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and seemed to issue a thinly-veiled threat of some sort of unspecified retaliation for making it so difficult to hold his event:

So Tom Wolf, next time give us a little notice, Governor. And I’ll remember it, Tom. I’m going to remember it, Tom. ‘Hello, Mr. President, this is Governor Wolf, I need help. I need help.’ You know what? These people are bad. We go out of our way regardless Republican, Democrat, when they have a problem. But he shut us out and he tried shutting us out of two other venues.”

Even nearly four years into this mess, it simply blows my mind that this man can get up on a stage and publicly, proudly threaten someone because they won’t give him his way… And we’re still worried about the possibility of him winning a second term.
