Support for Donald Trump has been wavering among the American public for some time now. The scandals continue to stack on top of each other — from the corruption inside his family company, to the mounting January 6th investigation, to the criminal probe by the DOJ into potential violations of the Espionage Act that has now crescendoed into an FBI search warrant raid at his Mar-a-Lago compound. The former president has inadvertently exposed himself to the point that his own base is beginning to question their loyalty to the 45th president, as his poll numbers flounder, and more and more potential challengers begin to eyeball the possibility of running against him in 2024, now that it looks like they may stand a chance against the man who’s held a death grip over the Republican party for so many years now.
It’s gotten so bad for the scandal-ridden, one-term, twice-impeached former guy that even some of his most prominent, top-name supporters in the game have begun to jump ship.
Right-wing conspiracy theorist and InfoWars host Alex Jones, who’s been at the epicenter of his own brutal scandals in recent weeks, seemed to officially jump off the Trump Train this week. Jones made the announcement that he no longer supports Donald Trump for another presidential term during a new episode of his radio talk show. That alone will almost assuredly send Trump into a hissy fit of epic proportions. However, it is Jones’ announcement of who he will now be supporting instead of Trump that’s going to send the former guy’s head spinning off his shoulders.
“I am supporting Desantis,” Alex Jones publicly declared on the InfoWars episode. “DeSantis has just gone from being awesome to being unbelievably good.”

Frankly, it’s detrimental enough to Donald Trump’s ego for someone as Right-wing and extreme as Alex Jones to publicly withdraw his MAGA support for all of the world to see. But it’s truly damning for him when that same Right-wing extremist goes on to throw his support behind the man that’s clearly shaping up to be Trump’s sworn enemy.
