The irony was hard to miss—Trump’s supporters were sharing the clip without realizing it showed people who didn’t want him there. But it wasn’t just one person who showed their dislike for Trump. At least one other fan at the game also gave him the middle finger, according to a photo from the Associated Press.
This wasn’t exactly the warm, friendly reception that Trump’s team tried to promote. Even though Trump waved and smiled, it was clear that not everyone in the crowd was happy with his visit. Trump himself tried to brush it off, writing on his Truth Social platform, “Thank you to the Steelers fans for the great reception tonight.”
This actually isn’t the first time Trump has been met with such reactions at sports events. Last year, during a college football game between Iowa and Iowa State, he also faced boos and middle fingers. It seems like football fans aren’t too eager to show their support for the former president.
Despite these negative reactions, Trump keeps trying to show that he’s popular with everyday Americans. However, incidents like this one at the Steelers game make it clear that many people are tired of his antics. Even though he tries to ignore or downplay the criticism, it’s hard to miss the signs—literally.
