Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform early this morning with this announcement: “I will be doing a General News Conference at 2:00 P.M. at Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach. Thank you!”
This will be the former president’s first public appearance since his newly installed Democratic presidential opponent, current Vice President Kamala Harris, announced that she had chosen Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz as her 2024 vice presidential running mate.
Trump did not specify what the topic of this sudden, self-announced press conference would be. However, there’s no denying that Kamala Harris has been a bona fide trailblazer since her bombshell arrival on the scene, and Tim Walz has only bolstered that support among Americans.

Harris’ fundraising records have soared and her rallies are truly a force to be reckoned with. So, it’s not unlikely that this is a desperate attempt on Donald Trump’s behalf to focus some of the media attention back on himself.
In the wake of his press conference announcement, Donald’s own former press secretary and a former close friend of his wife Melania, Stephanie Grisham, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and warned Americans that this is a clear sign that the ex-president is “panicking” in the midst of Harris’ resounding success.
“Re: Trump’s self-announced press conference today at 2 pm: He’s panicking. I’ve seen this play many times. He thinks his team is failing him & no one can speak better/’save’ his campaign/defend him but him. He hates the coverage Harris is getting & thinks only he can fix it,” Grisham wrote in her post.

There’s no denying that Harris’ installation into the 2024 race knocked Donald Trump off his tracks and he’s still struggling to gain his footing back.
