As if the world wasn’t weird enough already, what with the literal deadly pandemic wreaking absolute havoc across this nation and a bloated reality TV washup running for his second term as president of the United States, today the Twitter-sphere had the pleasure of witnessing a social media spat between Trump’s Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Guns N’ Roses member Axl Rose.

No, this is not an episode of The Twilight Zone. Yes, I am serious.

Earlier this evening, the world-renowned lead singer took to his Twitter account to express his feelings on the Trump administration’s Treasury Secretary. And quite frankly, it’s crystal clear that Axl doesn’t think highly of Mnuchin.

“It’s official! Whatever anyone may have previously thought of Steve Mnuchin he’s officially an asshole,” Axl’s tweet reads.

I’ve gotta say, there’s not a single part of that tweet that I disagree with in any way.

Dude is straight up an asshole.

But evidently, Mnuchin caught wind of the social media post somehow or another and decided he would throw his two cents in response to Rose.

“What have you done for the country lately?” the Trump Treasury Secretary responded to Axl’s tweet, complete with an American flag emoji, because I guess that makes the whole destroying the actual country thing a little better. Of course, that was after having deleted the version he tweeted with the visually-similar flag of Liberia on it.

So far it’s unclear as to what spurred Rose’s initial tweet. But it’s safe to say that Twitter users were living for it:

Boy, this is a strange, strange world we live in, folks.

Strange.
