Why longtime Trump ally (and pardon recipient), and self-proclaimed “dirty trickster” Roger Stone would allow a Danish documentary film crew to follow him around and record him for two whole entire years leading up to the infamous January 6th Capitol attack, I will never know. That is now, and likely always will be entirely beyond my scope of understanding. I don’t get it. But nevertheless, he did.
And now, after allegedly reviewing more than 20 hours of that very footage, a bombshell report from the Washington Post has shed a light on what that film crew heard, saw, and experienced while following around the likes of Roger Stone — and not only does it throw a serious wrench in Stone’s vehement claims that he had nothing to do with Donald Trump’s unhinged attempts to overthrow an election that he clearly and fairly lost, it will also very likely serve as a clear indicator to the ex-president that Roger Stone is not as loyal as he claims.
The staggering WaPo report reads:
As a mob ransacked the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, Roger Stone, Donald Trump’s longest-serving political adviser, hurried to pack a suitcase inside his elegant suite on the fifth floor of the Willard hotel. He wrapped his tailored suits in trash bags, reversed his black face mask so its ‘Free Roger Stone’ logo was hidden, then slipped out of town for a hastily arranged private flight from Dulles International Airport.”

The footage from the Danish film crew that was filming a documentary on the staunch Trump ally allegedly shows Stone telling an aide, “I really want to get out of here.” Stone allegedly stated that he was extremely fearful of some sort of prosecution by the incoming Biden administration Attorney General, Merrick Garland, stating, “He is not a friend.”
The footage reviewed by the Washington Post was video recorded by the crew for their documentary, “A Storm Foretold,” that’s set to be released later this year. This bombshell new footage, in combination with prior reporting from the Post, serves as the American public’s most detailed and disturbing view into what Roger Stone actually did to help Donald Trump overturn an election that he did not win, as well as a new glimpse into the Trump rally that went onto morph into the fateful, deadly January 6th Capitol siege by Donald Trump’s supporters.
According to the reporting on the new video footage, Stone was working behind the scenes to coordinate massive protests with notable Republican figures in the wake of Donald Trump’s humiliating election loss. The footage even allegedly shows Stone personally communicating with the leaders of various far-right groups, via text message, that played a very large role in the infamous Capitol attack. And while the footage reportedly does not show Stone communicating directly with the former president, it does contain numerous occasions in which Stone directly told the filmmakers or his associates that he was keeping in close contact with Donald Trump.
Stone has, of course, vehemently denied any involvement in the Capitol riot, going so far as to tell Newsmax last year, “Let me stay this as categorically as I can. Any claim, assertion, implication, or otherwise any accusation that I either knew about or was involved in any of the illegal acts in Washington, D.C. on January 6 is categorically false. There is no evidence to the contrary and an honest investigation will prove that.”
Like so many other Trump allies and sycophants, Stone has remained steadfast in his refusal to cooperate with the January 6th House Select Committee, refusing to deliver any testimony or evidence that has been repeatedly requested by the panel. Recently, he has even gone so far as to lodge a lawsuit against members of the Committee, in a desperate attempt to block their subpoena of his phone records.
According to the reporting on the new film footage, as he frantically packed his bags on the day of the infamous insurrection, Stone told the film crew directly that the Capitol attack was a big mistake and would ultimately be “really bad” for the pro-Trump movement as a whole.
However, Stone allegedly seemed to condone what he would go on to condemn just months later on the eve of the 2020 presidential election when he allegedly welcomed with open arms the potential of serious clashes with Left-wing activists. In one alleged recorded conversation, Stone was speaking with an aide as he talked of driving trucks into crowds of racial justice protesters. The staunch Trump ally allegedly said, “Once there’s no more election, there’s no reason why we can’t mix it up. These people are going to get what they’ve been asking for.”
Unsurprisingly, Stone has refused an interview with the Washington Post in regard to this new development.
