Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old high school dropout turned mass shooter, shot and killed 19 innocent children and their 2 beautiful teachers on Tuesday of this week, when he entered an unlocked door at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, where he barricaded himself inside a 4th-grade classroom and opened fire.

Ramos was barricaded inside the classroom for 40 minutes to an hour before an elite Border Patrol unit was ultimately able to breach the door to the 4th-grade room, engage the mass-murdering gunman, and shoot and kill Salvador Ramos.

Now, Ramos’ mother has broken her silence on the tragic mass murder committed by her son, and to say that we were left sickening to our cores would be the understatement of this century, as the shooter’s mother claimed her school shooter son “has his reasons.”

Speaking with CNN in Spanish, Salvador Ramos’ mother Adriana Reyes aka Martinez said, “I have no words. I have no words to say. I don’t know what he was thinking.”

“He had his reasons for doing what he did and please don’t judge him,” Reyes added.

Ramos’ mother went on to beg the public for their forgiveness, not only for her son but for herself as well, following the mass school shooting that now serves as the state of Texas’s most deadly school shooting in modern history, the nation’s third most deadly shooting, just after the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting and 2012 Sandy Hook shooting, and the country’s third deadly mass shooting in a matter of weeks.

“I only want the innocent children who died to forgive me. Forgive me, forgive my son. I know he had his reasons,” she told CNN.

Reports following the mass murder have indicated that Ramos had a strained, tumultuous relationship with his biological mother, Adriana Reyes — a claim that she denies — and he was living with his grandmother Celia Martinez Gonzalez at her home, where he shot and wounded Gonzalez before stealing her vehicle and going on a shooting rampage at Robb Elementary School.

CNN questioned Reyes as to why her son would choose to target an elementary school, to which she responded, “to get closer to those children.”

“Instead of paying attention to the other bad things, I have no words. I don’t know.”

In a separate interview with the Daily Mail, Reyes did not address claims that she was an abuser of drugs and was abandoned by her son to live with his grandmother, Reyes’ mother.

“My son wasn’t a violent person. I’m surprised by what he did,” she told the publication. “I pray for those families. I’m praying for all of those innocent children, yes I am. They [the children] had no part in this.”
