In true Trump fashion, the scandal-plagued former president hardcore bragged about the size of the crowd attending his rather controversial MAGA rally in the Bronx yesterday, repeatedly boasting about the throngs of people that he tried to claim showed up to support him. But, in additional true Trump fashion, the receipts say it’s just not true.
ABC7’s New York evening news reporter Jim Dolan came locked and loaded with overhead views of Donnie’s MAGA rally and quickly dismantled the former guy’s claim that the people of the Bronx actually like him.
Dolan’s report, in fact, paints a picture that deeply contrasts Donald’s claims from the stage Thursday night.
To kick things off, the local ABC evening news reporter featured comments from local residents of the Bronx who showed up at the 2024 MAGA rally for the sole purpose of protesting the former president who is currently on criminal trial in the state of New York.

The first protester featured by Dolan said: “First of all, he’s a big fat bigot and he just doesn’t have any love in his heart for anyone, anyone of color, anyone who’s in the LGBTQ plus community.”
The second didn’t have any more love for TFG than the first one, telling the local reporter, “He’s a crook, a liar, and a cheat. And he tries to make money off people. And that’s what he’s doing right now.”
Dolan’s report also featured an overhead view of the Bronx crowd gathered at the Trump event and painted a far different picture than what Donald was trying to convince people from the stage.
In the below screenshot, you can see a whole lot of empty space in the outdoor area where Trump was speaking. Note that the 11:09 timestamp on the image represents 11:09 PM local time, when the segment aired, not the time that the overhead photo was taken:
To make matters worse for the former president, the reporter then pivoted to the topic of where all these rallygoers were actually from. Turns out, a large majority of the Trump supporters in the not-so-massive crowd weren’t even from New York at all.
One unnamed professor commented, “They’re all from out of state. Go out there. Look at all of them. Call that a pocket check out of where they came from. Tennessee. Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Texas.”
Dolan finally found one rally-goer who was actually there to support Trump and not just protest him but, wouldn’t you know, the guy wasn’t even from the Bronx — he was from Queens.
Wrapping up his report, Dolan said: “Donald Trump can now say he held a rally in the South Bronx, home to immigrants and minority communities, and that it was well attended. It’s just not clear that the people who attended were from the Bronx. The campaign controlled who got in, and the campaign, of course, picked only supporters.”

New York’s ABC7 Reporter @jimdolan7 was on the ground and they had a helicopter in the air to tell the real story of Trump’s “big” rally in the south Bronx for the 11:00 news. The zoom out of Trump speaking and the real crowd size says it all. All they do is lie. pic.twitter.com/JDMVlupjz8
