It seems controversial QAnon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has now moved forward with trying to recruit the worst the Right has to offer into her “national divorce” plan.

This week, the Georgia Republican House Rep. marked Presidents Day with this disturbing tweet, in which she called for a “national divorce,” a shrink in the federal government, and an ultimate separation between Red and Blue states in the US:

The backlash to Greene’s suggestion was fierce and instantaneous, yet it seems to have only served to further fuel her flame.

In the direct aftermath of the uproar stirred by Greene, Fox talking head Sean Hannity sacrificed about five minutes of coveted prime-time television on his show to basically allow the ultra Right-wing congresswoman to plead her case for a split in America. Thus far, the pushback against Marjorie’s succession-like suggestion has been a bipartisan effort, as members of both sides of the political fence continue to call for unity in the country, instead of Greene’s ultimate push for a break up between the parties and the states.

However, that bipartisan rejection may ultimately be short-lived, as Greene seemed to successfully convince Hannity, who has a massive national platform, that a “national divorce” would be a good thing, before immediately following that up with a rather ominous and foreboding warning of what she claims is an impending civil war in the United States.

“Most people instinctively want this to be the United States of America,” Hannity opened the segment with Greene as a guest before getting straight to the point, asking the congresswoman, “How did you get to this point?”

The Fox prime-time host proceeded to rattle off a list of highly divisive topics in the US, “How do you reconcile ‘defund on the police’ and no bail laws with law and order? How do you reconcile secure borders and wide open borders? How do you reconcile energy independence with energy dependence and New Green Dealism? How do you reconcile peace through strength with people that want to gut our defense?”

Hannity eventually and rather pointedly noted, “I don’t see the middle ground on many of these issues,” as he officially lent merit to Greene’s outlandish “national divorce” campaign. “So what is the other answer if it’s not a divorce?”

Greene was quick to gush her gratitude for Hannity’s validation of her idea before going on to claim that all of her friends are “regular Americans. Everyone I talk to is sick and tired and fed up of being bullied by the left, abused by the left, and disrespected by the left.”

The conspiracy theorist congresswoman went on to cite the likes and retweets of her “national divorce” social media post as proof that Americans want what she’s putting on the table here. Thus far, Greene’s infamous tweet has received somewhere around 77,000 likes, 10,000 retweets, and approximately 14,000 quote tweets, according to Mediaite, but it’s pretty safe to assume that far from all of that engagement is in support of her idea.

“The last thing I ever want to see in America is a civil war,” Greene claimed before going on to issue a clearly scaremongering warning, “No one wants that; at least everyone I know would never want that. But it’s going in that direction, and we have to do something about it.”

Hannity, of course, didn’t breathe a word of pushback against Greene’s threats of a civil war breaking out across the nation.
