Donald Trump met with Saudi vice minister of defense Prince Khalid bin Salman on Monday and it was not on the “president’s” public schedule. The Saudi Prince tweeted photos that apparently the White House photographer released to the Saudi government before they were even released to the US media. The Prince said in the tweet that he met with Trump under the direction of Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman (the bone saw guy), his older brother, to discuss “aspects of cooperation, coordination and joint work between the two friendly countries in various aspects, including joint efforts to confront regional and international challenges.” Included in the photos were national security adviser Robert O’Brien, deputy national security adviser Victoria Coates and unpaid and inexperienced senior adviser Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law.

It was just last week that Vice President Mike Pence falsely blamed the 9/11 attacks on the country of Iran to defend Trump over the assassination of Iranian Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani. Fifteen of the 19 attackers, though, were citizens of Saudi Arabia and none of them were from Iran.
Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi was a Saudi Arabian dissident, author, and columnist for the Washington Post whose brutal death at the direction of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman shocked the world. So it’s pretty fucked up that Trump and his team just welcomed the Prince’s little brother to the White House with open arms.
We’re all suffering from Trump-fatigue as the last three years have been the longest decade of our lives. When Trump is finally out of power, the next president will need to have the White House fumigated and cleansed with sage.
