Former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows was approached by reporters who wanted answers about the January 6th Capitol attack and his former aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s explosive recent testimony but made it clear that he wasn’t willing to talk as he buried his face into his phone and scurried away from the press.

Meadows was spotted walking on Capitol Hill today when a reporter approached him and asked if he had anything to say about his former senior aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s recent damning public testimony before the January 6th House Select Committee. Earlier this month, Cassidy made a surprise appearance before the J6 panel, where she testified to the behind-the-scenes happenings inside and around the Trump White House on January 6th, 2021, as well as the incidents that took place backstage leading up to, during, and after his infamous “Stop the Steal” rally at the ellipse. In part of her testimony, Hutchinson claimed that Donald Trump reached forward from the back seat of “The Beast” in the aftermath of his “Stop the Steal” rally and attempted to grab the steering wheel from a Secret Service agent upon learning that he would not be allowed to physically march to the US Capitol building with his mob of supporters who would go on to attack and siege the Capitol with Congress inside.

In video footage that’s now making its way around social media, one reporter asked the former Trump chief of staff, “Have you spoken to Cassidy Hutchinson before or after her testimony?”

“As I said, I don’t comment on anything on Jan. 6, guys,” Meadows said, “And I appreciate the job you’re doing.”

“Have you been in touch with members of Congress about asking for pardons,” one reporter pressed. Meadows did not respond to this question at all. Recent testimonies to the J6 Committee from Trump administration insiders have claimed that several GOP members of Congress requested pardons following the Capitol attack.

“Is there anything the Jan. 6 committee is doing that worries you,” a reporter asked. They also questioned Meadows as to whether he was “cooperating with the committee.” The former Trump official did not answer either question.

Reporters pressed with a few more questions regarding the infamous Capitol attack before asking Meadows about a potential Trump 2024 run.

“The president’s opinions obviously speak for themselves,” Meadows answered.

Meadows refused to comment when asked if he would work with Trump again if he won in 2024.

“Again, I’m not commenting on anything that relates to the president running or Jan. 6,” Mark said.

Meadows also outright refused to answer any questions on the topic of Trump’s blatant inaction during the Capitol attack.
