Donald Trump has long bragged about only hiring the “best people” to serve as his aides and in various positions of power across his now-former presidential administration and within his business empires. His turnover track record during his four-year presidential term alone was enough to prove that claim to be yet another big, fat lie told by the corrupt former guy. But, unsurprisingly, Donald Trump isn’t keeping much better company within his personal inner circles either.
According to bombshell new reporting from The Daily Beast this week, former President Trump’s oldest, longest-serving aide has been busted on a hot mic recording, divulging all of the ways he has blatantly lied to and manipulated the big guy over the course of the last three decades or so — something that’s sure to send Trump’s head spinning off his shoulders when he catches wind of the newly uncovered revelations.
This new development came as part of a series of explosive revelations from the bombshell new documentary, A Storm Foretold, that follows Stone specifically throughout the days before and in the aftermath of the tumultuous 2020 presidential election. The documentary has already premiered in Denmark but has not yet seen its public release in the US.
The Beast was able to obtain and review portions of footage from the documentary film, which saw the Danish filmmakers and producers catching Stone in a rant, explaining the variety of ways he has lied to and blatantly manipulated Donald Trump throughout the 30-plus years he has worked with the scandal-plagued former president. To make the matter all the more interesting, Christoffer Guldbrandsen and Frederik Marbell draw a pointed and stark contrast between Stone’s hot mic remarks and those he delivered to the MAGA crowd gathered at an October 2019 right-wing conference at Trump’s Doral golf club in Florida.

Back in 2019, Stone told the Trump-loving crowd, “I want to talk to you about Donald Trump. Someone who is a force of nature in himself. Someone who marches to his own drummer. Someone who is not handled, not managed. Not controlled. A man who cannot be bossed. And cannot be bought, which has made him one of the greatest presidents since Abraham Lincoln.”
At this point in the documentary, the film sharply cuts to footage of Stone being recorded from a distance as he tells someone the real truth about how he deals with and handles Donald J. Trump, all while footage of the rally cuts in and out of the scene:
“I have a 40-year record of being able to convince the big man to do what’s in his best interest. He’s not easy to deal with. It’s complicated. He resents any implication that he is handled or managed or directed.
You have to say, ‘Remember that night when we were in Buffalo. And you gave that speech, and God, it had to be 10,000 people, the biggest crowd they’d ever seen. And you said XYZ, and the place went crazy, remember that? I don’t know where you came up with that line, but it’s one of the best things.’”
Stone openly admitted that he’s been employing these manipulation tactics against Trump for the better part of 3 decades, “Doesn’t fucking matter that he never said it—doesn’t matter. It’s time-consuming, but it works. I did it for 30 years.”
Good luck explaining this one away, Donald.
