Recent reporting has indicated that Special Counsel Jack Smith is on the warpath with regard to his multiple investigations into scandal-ridden, corrupt ex-President Donald Trump, on behalf of the United States Justice Department, and bombshell new reporting this evening appears to confirm those reports without a shadow of a doubt, as sources tell ABC News that Jack Smith has now officially issued subpoenas against Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.
According to inside sources with knowledge of the matter who spoke with ABC News, the subpoenas issued by Special Counsel Smith are in direct connection to his ongoing DOJ investigation into Donald Trump’s and his allies’ actions in the days leading up to the infamous, deadly January 6th Capitol insurrection, and their overall attempts to overthrow the results of the 2020 presidential election.
The bombshell development was first reported on by the New York Times with additional follow up reporting and information from inside sources by ABC News.
Jack Smith was appointed to the special counsel position back in November by Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland, to spearhead the US Department of Justices’ multiple investigations into the scandal-ridden former president — including Trump’s role in inciting the deadly January 6th violence, his extensive efforts to overthrow a United States election, and the stolen classified government document scandal.

The investigations were previously being handled as an inside job by the DOJ. However, Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign announcement late last year triggered the attorney general to appoint Smith to oversee and manage the various investigations into the ex-president turned presidential candidate to avoid any potential conflict of interest, per the DOJ special counsel guidelines.
The subpoenas issued against Ivanka and Jared come as the newest leg in recent series of federal summons’ issued by Smith, including subpoenas against Trump’s former VP Mike Pence, and his ex-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
