Trump National Golf Club Washington D.C. has a branding problem and, as of last month, a pest problem too. Health inspectors uncovered both during a visit to the property in Virginia.
Despite the name, the club actually sits in Loudoun County, Virginia, which is why local health officials are the ones responsible for inspecting it.
Their June 30 report opened with an unwelcome discovery.
“Observed a large quantity of small flies in the storage room near the employee restrooms,” the inspector wrote.
That finding was only part of what inspectors documented.

In another section of the club, they found pest control products being stored and used that weren’t approved for a food establishment. Staff removed them after inspectors pointed out the issue.
“The person-in-charge removed the pesticides from the food establishment,” the report noted.
The kitchen turned up its own set of problems.
Blue cheese was sitting at 54 degrees Fahrenheit. Sausage links measured 51 degrees. Sausage patties came in at 49, while pasta registered the same. Every item exceeded the required 41-degree limit for safe cold storage.
Some of those items ended up in the trash. “The person-in-charge voluntarily discarded the blue cheese and sausage,” the inspector wrote.
Inspectors also found problems with how food was being stored. Raw steak, fish and burger patties had been placed above ready-to-eat foods like tortillas and sauces, creating a cross-contamination risk.
Staff reorganized everything before the inspection wrapped up.
The report states employees “rearranged raw foods below ready-to-eat foods in all cold holding equipment.”
The club saw things very differently.
A spokesperson told NOTUS the property operates “to the highest health and safety standards,” adding, “These so-called ‘violations’ are fabricated, politically motivated and completely without merit.”
Loudoun County has not publicly responded to that claim.
NOTUS has spent the past year tracking similar health citations across Trump’s golf properties, and the list keeps growing.
Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Hopewell Junction, New York, received a “critical violation” in April after inspectors found “food from an unapproved source, spoiled, adulterated on premises.” About 40 miles away, Trump National Golf Club Westchester was cited in November for insects and rodents, along with “dirty surfaces” and rooms inspectors described as being “in disrepair.”
Chicago’s Trump International Hotel had its own headaches in December. Inspectors documented a fly infestation, broken dishwashers and wastewater flooding part of the kitchen floor near three food preparation sinks.
Bedminster in New Jersey scored a 32 out of 100 last May, the county’s lowest grade at the time, before a fast reinspection bumped it up to an 86. General manager David Schutzenhofer reached for language that sounds almost identical to what the D.C. club said this month, calling the health department’s findings “clearly nothing more than a politically motivated attack” and adding: “Never before have we witnessed such visceral hostility from the health department.”
